And yes, that is the the chorus of song, if the melody isn’t stuck in your head, I wish it upon you.

When I am sad (which is a reoccurring thing). I think to listen to classical instrumental music and read Neil Gaiman. I have two completely separate reasons for which this is a “thing” for me.

For one, classical music is something most people might think of as a “acquired taste”. One might even imagine the audience for this genre of music as being generally fancy people with awesome mustaches, tops hats, a stylish cane with an ancient amber stone in it a mosquito with a drop of dinosaur (if you get my reference I applaud you), who may occasionally say “touche” when something clever has been said. (I wish people would say this word more often.) I am also going to admit I didn’t always like classical music, I remember listening to it as a child and thinking this stuff was frighting.(Maybe perhaps my parents were trolls and exposed me too Shoenberg all too young? Of course now I have come to appreciate it. The thing is, with classical music you have to listen with an open heart as opposed to listening with an open mind. It is a sixfold more effective this way, and I believe this because this is they way I feel in love (with classical music). Right now I am in love with Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite, which is a series of 5 songs he wrote for his 6 and 7 year old children to play (it’s a four hands piece). From these songs a orchestration was made for a ballet I know I want to see one called “Ma mère l’oye” (which is just french for Mother Goose). This was the version I heard first, I was on the bus listening to classical south Florida on my iphone (they have an App that let’s me heard music from their station <3), I was feeling a bit down for reasons I don’t care to admit right now and this really made me feel better. I closed my eyes (it’s not like their was much to look at the bus if you get my drift.) and I just let it all run through me, it felt like cold water running down an aching body, sort of refreshing, cleansing and just nice. From that moment on I just felt better. I catch myself wishing bad things to happen to ignorant thoughtless people sometimes (usually this happens fast and I don’t even realized I did it), now I would like to replace all those hateful wishes with Ravel’s Music, I want those same people to hear it and become self aware and internally wake up.

Now my love for classical music is deliciously comprised by my love for Neil Gaiman’s literature. It all started in 10th grade when I read his collection of short stories called “Fragile Things” and now that I’ve grown a little more since then I’ve decided I want to read all he writes. (I brought the book off ebay for 3$, I think that’s crazy this book is priceless in my little world up up there, I’m gesturing to my brain, btw) Something about the way he writes feels nostalgically dark , charmingly silky and full circle-ly. I read his stories and I take everything he says to heart, it’s really strange, I feel like I could be his friend in a alternative world and just have interesting conversations, I would love to ask him for advice. He recently married my other childhood crush Amanda Fucking Palmer, oh man, they are a dream couple . These people are just so inspiring, separately if my eyes were to physically see one of them I would faint, but if I saw them together I’m sure I would die and shortly after I would be given back life, because that would be too weird of a death.

A lot of other things make me happy. I love hearing what makes people happy, I think its lovely. Feel free to share.

Oh and I started a livejournal. Not entirely sure how the fucking fuck that works.
